I wanted to go on safari with all the children. After all what is kenya most famous for -- Safari! Thanks to my mother's financial help we managed to find a two night tent safari in the Maasai Mara. I have come to the conclusion that you can take photos of the landscape and animals but something is lost when your look back at the pictures. The majesty of a pride of lions laying out on an outcropping of rocks on a hillside cannot be seen but must be experienced.
God gave us five senses. Eyes to see just how perfectly camouflaged these animals are in the african grass. The lions on the rock had some teenagers in the grass we found later - close enough to send a herd of wildebeest galloping off. God gave us ears to hear the low rumble of a female lion calling her cub. The creator gave us a nose to smell the wildness of these animals. Trust me they stink! God also gave us a tongue to taste the dust and earth that is inevitable on safari. He also gave us the sense of touch -- how can you see these animals and not feel God's presence.
