This is Beccas second trip to Liberia. She came last summer through ABC's Project Take Love summer missions experience program. She's back for a second summer in a row with her brother and friend, Shane (better known as Shank by the Liberian kids).
We found Becca outside the gate today with twelve of the orphan girls. They had just walked two hours from Camp 4 where the orphanage is located. She was bringing the girls to her house to make spaghetti and paint their nails. We offered to drive them back to the orphanage in the bus at 3:30. Paul wanted to greet Pastor Jonah as well. We found Shane and Tim who had just finished roofing their Baptist church and pouring an entry to the church. We toured the orphanage with Emmanuel (our graduate) and had a nice visit with pastor Jonah -- now in his late seventies.
The orphan girls sang all the way from ABC to the orphanage on the bus. You can see Becca and Ashley in the front.
Beautiful hands and painted nails.
Pastor and mother Betty Jonah and some of their 52 orphans.
