Wilamina and Dr. Doolittle

Bessie visits the pigs everyday. She loves animals. This year she has hand raised three orphaned hedgehogs and has started a bunny farm with her cousin Charlotte. Yesterday she brought a piglet home with her to the house. At first she wanted to give the piglet a bath in my tub. I talked her out if that. I filled a basin with water and Marie took charge washing "Wilamina". Bess wanted to name the pig Wilbur but it was a girl so we decided on the name Wilamina. Bess wrapped the piglet in a blanket like a baby and carried it around for hours like a baby doll. When Paul came home for lunch I heard him exclaim, "why is there a pig in my bedroom?"  Life in Africa is never dull.
